Mike Lingo  – Trombone/ Bass Trombone
B.M.E., University of Montevallo.  M.A., University of Alabama.

After spending five years as a high school band director, Mike embarked in 1980 on what is now a 40+ year career in the financial services industry.

As  a musician, he is currently a member of the Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra, Just Friends Little Big Band, the Joe Giattina Dance Orchestra, Alabama Blues Machine, Big Daddy’s New Band, the Renaissance Trombone Ensemble, Aria Brass, The Rock Mtn Swing Band, and is the director of  the SuperJazz Big Band.   Superjazz website


In classical music, he has performed as substitute Bass Trombone for the Birmingham Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.

He has performed in pit orchestras for Summerfest, Town & Gown Theatre, The Dane Peterson Theatre Company,  Red Mountain Theatre Company and numerous other local productions.  He has also performed in the pit orchestra for the Touring Broadway Shows “Cinderella” (featuring Eartha Kitt), Mel Brooks’ “The Producers”, “The Full Monty”, “The Rat Pack”,  “Chicago”, , “Grinch!”, “The Book of Mormon” three extended engagements of “Wicked” and “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical”.

Over the past twelve years, he has toured across the SouthEast and the Caribbean with The Temptations, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, The O’Jays,  Dennis Edwards and the Temptations Review, and The Four Tops. In the past he has performed as a local backup musician with touring artists such as Isaac Hayes, Englebert Humperdink, Louise Mandrell, Roy Clark, Bob Hope, Ernie Ford, Buck Owens, Gordon McRae, Anita Bryant, Liberace, The BeeGees, Holiday on Ice and Ringling Brothers Circus.

Mike has toured both nationally and internationally with The O’Jays and with Dennis Edwards and the Temptations Review, including performances at The White House in Washington D C, the St Kitts Music Festival, the Bermuda Music Festival and performances at  The Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
