Ginny is an active hornist in many musical groups across a wide spectrum in the greater Birmingham area. She performs regularly as principal horn in the Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra, in the pit for local theater and musical productions including Virginia Samford Theater and local universities, in churches, and in the Birmingham Broadway Series and Broadway Across Birmingham (including Aida, Camelot, Lion King, The Producers, Spamalot, Sweet Charity, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Wicked). She has also frequently been heard performing with Opera Birmingham, Alabama Operaworks, Birmingham Ballet, SuperJazz Big Band, Town and Gown Theater, Summerfest, Artburst, City Stages, in studio work for various groups and commercial advertising, and is a founding member of Birmingham Brass Quintet .
Ginny was also active in Mobile as a member of the Mobile Symphony, the Mobile Opera Orchestra, and adjunct horn instructor at Mobile College. She has been delighted to perform with the Birmingham Metropolitan Orchestra, the Huntsville Symphony, and the Montgomery Symphony.
Ginny pursued musical study at the University of Alabama, performing as soloist in most ensemble groups, including the symphony orchestra, symphonic winds, brass ensembles, jazz band, university singers, and theater productions. She also completed a graduate degree in Library Service, and has enjoyed a fruitful career as a school library media specialist.
